Terms of use

The rules for using SkinMatch, in plain language. By creating an account or browsing the site, you agree to these terms.

What SkinMatch is — and isn't

SkinMatch is a matchmaking board that helps Counter-Strike 2 players find someone to trade skins with. It is not a marketplace, an escrow service, or a trading bot: SkinMatch never holds, buys, sells, or takes custody of any skin or any money, and never executes a trade on a user's behalf. Every actual exchange happens directly between two players through Steam's own trading system, entirely outside SkinMatch.

Not affiliated with Valve, Steam, or Counter-Strike 2

SkinMatch is an independent, unofficial project. It is not produced, endorsed, sponsored, or specifically approved by Valve Corporation, and Steam and Counter-Strike are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Skin names, images, and other game terminology shown here are used only to describe items being traded.

Trades happen on Steam, at your own risk

SkinMatch only helps two users find each other; it has no visibility into and no involvement in the trade itself once it moves to Steam. You are solely responsible for verifying who you're trading with and deciding whether to go through with an exchange. See the safe trading guide for concrete steps to reduce your risk — following it doesn't guarantee a safe outcome, and neither does anything on SkinMatch.

No warranty, no liability for user conduct

SkinMatch is provided "as is," without any warranty of accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Price estimates shown on the site are rough, automatically generated references, not live market quotes. SkinMatch does not vet, endorse, or guarantee any user, listing, or trade, and is not liable for any loss, scam, dispute, or damage arising from an interaction with another user or from a trade conducted on Steam — that risk sits between the trading parties, not SkinMatch.

Acceptable use

Don't use SkinMatch to scam, harass, impersonate someone, post fraudulent or misleading listings, or attempt to route a trade outside of Steam through it. Reports are reviewed by human moderators, and SkinMatch may remove a listing or suspend an account at its discretion for violating these terms, without that removal implying any judgment about the underlying trade dispute itself.

Your account and content

You're responsible for what you post — trade listings, notes, and profile details — and for keeping your account credentials secure. You can edit or delete your own listings, and request account deletion at any time; see the privacy policy for what that removes.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the service changes. Continuing to use SkinMatch after a change means you accept the updated terms.
